User2222 (FKA dead bart) is a Glasgow based producer & instrumentalist. His work often shifts from genre to genre like it's nothing, one minute he's releasing moving ambient pieces that'll tear your heart apart, the next it's thumping hardstyle spliced with elements of Jersey Club. Nothing is too far nor too extreme for him. At the moment, he's working with rising pop star Juniper Fields. The pair's collaborative album Late Night Fantasies is coming out soon, & the final single Commander, My Prince is out now.
Favourite Simpsons character?
I don’t know if I could choose just one? But maybe either Moe or Abe, I feel like they’re both misunderstood lol
Do you have a favourite piece of architecture?
There's this mid century house for sale just outside of Edinburgh, i started playing the lottery after i saw it because i want it so bad
What is your late night fantasy?
Facing my fears
How did you come across Juniper's music and what made you want to collaborate with her?
i came across My Favourite Mistake on soundcloud by chance. i used to listen to it everyday on my commute to work
What bird do you relate to the most?
Pigeons, i could write at length about them at this point
Favourite Young Thug verse?
All Type A Drugs from the Black Portland mixtape, his voice sounds soooo good and unique without autotune
Do you have a hidden talent?
reading british silver assay marks
What's the most emotional piece of music you've ever heard?
WePT by Salem gets me everytime
Was there a reason for the name change from "Dead Bart" to "User2222"?
i just wanted to post the stupid remixes i was making at the time to an audience of 0. the name came from the captcha i got when making a new soundcloud account, it was this horribly compressed picture of a house with the door number 2222 and i didn't think much beyond the immediacy of having a new anonymous account. i think having side accounts to dump ideas is an important outlet. and its fun
Is there an instrumental of yours that you are the most proud of?
There's a song on Juniper & I's upcoming project called Lidocaine, its quite simplistic production-wise but it really bangs on shitty old car speakers and im really proud that it translates so well. Solo-work wise I'd have to say Juno. i still don't really understand how i made that song, the project file makes my head hurt
Do you have a go-to crowd-pleaser song when DJing?
idk if its necessarily a crowd pleaser but i love playing Saturday by Desire, its maybe my favourite thing to hear over a club PA and sometimes you just need to be selfish
